Remarks

1. This cable can not work if your car uses a protocol/bus system like CAN bus.

What cars does it works on

This cable is applicable to the 1996 to 2004 VW/AUDI/SEAT/SKODA cars with  K/L and single K line modes, except vehicles with CAN-BUS modes. 

If you have a computer with USB port, and your car is VW/AUDI/SEAT/SKODA produced from 1996 to 2003, you may purchase this item.

 

What computer is required?

The only other thing you need is a Computer (PC or laptop) with a USB port. Nothing else!

• Any PC running Microsoft Windows 95 or 98 or ME (Millenium) or 2000 or NT or XP.

• A working built-in USB port. 

If your computer has no USB port, please buy the KKL COM port cable.

Instructions

• Download the self-installing distribution file Release 409.1. 

• Run it and follow the prompts to allow it to install itself. 
  Note:  You must install VAG - COM software on your PC's hard disk -- it will not work properly if you try running it directly from a floppy or CD.    However, you can use a floppy or CD to move the distribution file from a PC with internet access to another PC that does not have internet access.

• Connect the USB KKL OBD2 Diagnostic cable (this item) between the computer and the car.

• Turn the car's ignition switch ON.  No need to start the engine.

• Start the VAG-COM program, click "Options", select the COM3 as the communications port.  Use "Test" to confirm that the program can use the port and find the interface.  Then "Save". 

• Now Play.  Make sure the software can reliably access all the control modules that it should be in your car.   Read Fault Codes from some modules.
