USB - RS232 (Serial) Adapter

Most modern laptops do no longer come with a Com or serial (RS232) port.  This is unfortunate as a lot of interfaces for car diagnostics still use these ports and most of the software in use today requires a serial port. 

The lack of serial ports has been in part solved by manufacturers making USB diagnostic devices,  However in the main these are not true USB devices and use clever software drivers to emulate a serial port.
