I just wanted to comment on the great service you give. I only purchased your basic test unit but it is easy to use and has saved me pounds on garage services after I had a new exhaust part installed it took a while to "settle" in and threw up a few errors. The tester enabled me to find out for myself what they were and in each case it just needed resetting and now all appears to be fine.  The service was good, helpful and the delivery was very fast. Rare and refreshing these days to find someone who has great customer
service. I shall definitely purchase from you again. Oh and very nice Christmas email, love Santa at the bottom.

Mike taken delivery of order ref: RC4176465 yesterday and used it last night on my C3 and detected the error TPS .
Cleared the error code and rescanned no more errors. BRILLIANT
 
Would just like to say big thanks for the service A1 and would recommend talktomycar‏ to anyone before they go to the dealer to try 1 of these machines 1st.
 
Just a couple of questions regarding the download up dates.
Do I need to do this regular and which of the files do I download there seems to be more than 1 file for the U381.
If you can please advise.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for a quick and professional service.

I received the code reader by mid-day. Even though it was raining I had to try itJ. The reader works on both my Volvo S60 and my SAMRT Roadster. I haven’t tried pulling off a sensor connection or anything like that but I did read the live data and it all seems to work. The Volvo provides facilities to read either the engine or the transmission data. Much the same information just stored in different places by the look of it.

It was a pity I didn’t buy a reader earlier then I could have saved some serious money as the fault on my Volvo that prompted the purchase was an oxygen sensor failure. I believe the reader would have seen that and I could have replaced the sensor myself.

Thanks mike for the fastest service I have ever received. Ordered the 3 items on wed 8/10/08,had an email to say they had been despatched at 1600 and they arrived next morning at approx 1130.

Many thanks for 1/ answering my questions clearly (and not losing your patience with me !) and 2/ for the quick delivery.
 
Used the scanner this morning, got the fault codes, cleared them, and rechecked and there`s the culprit identified.  So for a `98 Volvo V70, the U480 does the job.

Plugged it in and Code P0135 came up. Reset, but alarm came up again next day. Have arranged with local garage to check out possible fault.

Just a short note of recognition re my order placed yesterday, received this scanner this morning at 09.15, fantastic service. Plugged it straight into my 2000 VW 2ltr Gti and gave fault P0172 (overfueling) due to a recent over use of the right foot, erased the fault, put out the light, perfect.

As discussed ....downloaded the Elmscan software ...got it up and running and the neigbour is now on his way to the garage with the codes and fault list which is not as we thought .....an 02 sensor.... but an issue around the airflow meter !  What a product ......and tks for your service and assistance !!!!

Great service, Mike.
Reader arrived yesterday afternoon - within 36 hours of placing order.

Having attached black and white adaptor leads, connectors are very tight fit almost difficult to get a fit, I got a "No Codes" read out. Which is great.

To check that reader was actually reading DFCs, I disconnected the engine coolant temperature sensor and re-read the codes - got 0522 coding which is spot on. Great, this means there are no recorded faults and the reader is working correctly.

Having spent a fair amount of time trying to get LEDs to work with connectors, looking at enabling a MIL from either the ECU or from a connector under the dash and generally swotting up on how to read codes, the U280 does all I need.

Am I correct in my belief that any EOBDII reader will work on any EOBDII equipped car or are there some anomalies?.  Sorry if this is a silly question but I have only ever delt with Vauxhall engines before where it was possible to 'flash' the codes out using the MIL.
 
Which of your product range would you recommend for the DIY user?
